How Delivery Works
Buying directly from a farm is a little different than ordering from a big box store.
Here’s exactly how it works at Oak & Barrel Meats.
Simple. Clear. No surprises.
1. Place Your Order Online
Shop anytime at oakandbarrelmeats.com.
• Choose individual cuts, bundles or farm boxes
• All meat is vacuum-sealed and frozen at peak freshness
• Inventory reflects what we actually have available
Once you check out, your order is scheduled for your selected delivery route.
2. Pay Attention to Order Deadlines
We deliver on scheduled routes throughout Kentucky and Southern Ohio.
Regular by-the-cut orders:
Place your order by the day before your delivery route.
Farm Boxes:
Farm Boxes open for a limited time and close on the posted deadline.
Boxes are delivered during the third week of the month.
If you miss the cutoff, your order simply moves to the next route.
3. Delivery Routes
We deliver along set routes and meet customers at central pickup locations.
Delivery is free when your order meets the route minimum.
Delivery days and route details are listed on our Delivery Schedule page.
If you’re unsure which route applies to you, just reach out.
4. What to Expect on Delivery Day
• Your order will arrive frozen and packed securely
• You’ll receive a reminder before delivery
• Have a cooler available at your scheduled time and location
If something unexpected comes up, communication is key. Let us know as soon as possible.
5. Farmers Market Pickups
During market season, you may choose market pickup when available.
Market dates vary seasonally and will be noted during checkout.
6. Storage & Quality
All meat is frozen to lock in freshness.
Vacuum sealing protects flavor and prevents freezer burn.
Most cuts store well for 6 to 12 months in a standard freezer.
7. Questions?
We’re a small family farm, not a warehouse.
If you’re unsure about:
• Which route you’re on
• When to order
• How much freezer space you need
• What cuts are best for your family
Just send a message. We’re happy to help.
