Market Booth Manager Position
Pay: $18/hour + sales-based incentive
Schedule: Saturdays during farmers market season
Hours: Approximately 7–8 hours each Saturday
Location: Oak & Barrel Meats in Mackville, KY → assigned farmers market
About the Role
Oak & Barrel Meats is looking for a reliable, friendly person to independently manage one of our farmers market booths on Saturdays.
The workday begins and ends at our farm in Mackville. You’ll load the products and supplies needed for market, drive to the assigned farmers market, set up and run the booth, then return remaining products and equipment to the farm afterward.
You’ll be the face of Oak & Barrel Meats at market, helping customers, answering basic questions about our products and making sure the booth runs smoothly from setup through breakdown.
This is a good fit for someone who enjoys talking with people, staying organized, working independently and taking ownership of a consistent weekly responsibility.
What the Job Looks Like
A typical Saturday includes:
- Arriving at our farm in Mackville and loading coolers, products and market supplies
- Driving to the assigned farmers market
- Setting up the booth before market opens
- Running the booth independently during market hours, typically 3–4+ hours
- Greeting customers and helping them choose products
- Answering basic questions about our farm, products and how our animals are raised
- Handling cash and card sales using Shopify POS
- Keeping the booth clean, organized and stocked throughout market
- Packing remaining products and supplies when market closes
- Driving back to the farm
- Unloading and returning products and equipment to their proper places
Training on our products, sales system and market procedures is provided.
What We’re Looking For
- Reliable and punctual
- Friendly and comfortable talking with customers
- Comfortable working independently
- Organized and able to keep track of products, sales and supplies
- Able to safely lift and move coolers weighing approximately 50 lbs
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- A vehicle with enough cargo space to transport coolers and market equipment
- Comfortable driving approximately one hour each way, depending on the assigned market
- Consistently available on Saturdays throughout the farmers market season
Compensation
- $18 per hour for the full market workday, including travel time between the farm and market
- Sales-based performance incentive
- Additional seasonal work, deliveries or farm-related opportunities may be available depending on interest and fit
Commitment
We’re looking for someone who can consistently work Saturdays throughout the farmers market season. A typical market day is approximately 7–8 hours from arrival at the farm through returning and unloading after market.
Reliability is especially important. Our customers come to expect us each week, and this role is an important part of maintaining that trust.
