Bone Broth Gravy
Cook Time 5 minutes
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons butter, ghee, or fat from drippings
- 3 tablespoons arrowroot powder or flour
- 1 cup chicken drippings, fat removed, stock, or bone broth
- Freshly ground black pepper
- Salt to taste
Instructions
-
In a saucepan, melt butter (or preferred cooking fat) over medium heat, add arrowroot powder and cook for 1 min.
-
Very slowly add broth a little at a time while whisking constantly. Don’t add all at once or it will be difficult to whisk out the lumps of arrowroot. Keep whisking until completely smooth.
-
Simmer over medium-low heat for 2-3 min. to thicken.
-
If the gravy is too thick for your liking, add additional broth 1 tablespoon at a time to thin.
-
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Recipe Notes
This recipe makes one cup of gravy, so you may want to double or triple this if you're serving a crowd.
