Slow-Roasted Garlic & Brown Sugar Brisket
Ingredients

3–4 lb Oak & Barrel Meats beef brisket

2 tbsp olive oil

2 tbsp brown sugar

1 tbsp salt

1½ tsp black pepper

1 tbsp smoked paprika
-
2 tsp garlic powder
-
1 tsp onion powder
-
1 tsp dried thyme
-
1 cup beef broth
-
½ cup apple cider vinegar (or red wine)

1 large onion, sliced

4 cloves garlic, smashed
Instructions

Preheat oven to 300°F.

Mix rub: Combine brown sugar, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and thyme.

Prepare brisket: Pat the brisket dry and rub it generously with olive oil, then coat with the spice mix.

Sear (optional but adds flavor): In a large oven-safe pan or Dutch oven, sear the brisket over medium-high heat for 3–4 minutes per side until browned.

Add flavor base: Scatter sliced onions and garlic around the brisket, then pour in broth and apple cider vinegar.

Cover tightly with foil or a lid and roast for 4–5 hours, until the brisket is fork-tender.

Rest: Remove from the oven and let rest 15 minutes before slicing against the grain.
